About Chad Austin…

Before settling in Moss Bluff, my father was in the Navy and the family moved every three years to a new place.  I really believe that, by having to make so many new friends as a youngster, it [relocating] helped me develop an outgoing personality.  After graduating from Sam Houston in Moss Bluff, I attended McNeese State University. While attending McNeese, I worked part time at local radio stations.  My first job in radio was to dress up as Crawford the Krawfish for the now defunct KRAW 107.5.  After attending MSU Chad moved to Ft. Lauderdale Florida to take over as the Promotions/Entertainment Manager for the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, and, YES, I was working there when Anna Nichole Smith passed away in our hotel. I found my way back to my hometown of Lake Charles in 2009 after being gone for 5 years.  I grew up listening to KIX 96 and it was an absolute dream come true to have the torch passed to me to continue hosting Southwest Louisiana’s #1 country morning show! 

 When not on the radio or emceeing events around SWLA, you can find Chad on a local golf course, on a softball fields, fishing, hunting or spending time with friends and family.
